Rowan Trollope is CEO of Five9, a leading provider of cloud contact center software for the enterprise. Rowan is passionate about how digital transformation revolutionizes the way we communicate, in particular how organizations bring personalized experiences to their customers. He joined Five9 as CEO in May 2018.
Rowan is a recognized Silicon Valley leader and has a depth of experience in software solutions and cloud innovation. He is a self-proclaimed geek and taught himself to program on a Commodore 64 at a local Radio Shack and holds a number of patents in computer security and operating systems.
Prior to Five9, Rowan was SVP and General Manager of Cisco’s Applications Group and a member of the executive leadership team. Under Rowan’s leadership he refreshed the entire collaboration technology portfolio, simplifying the product line and winning over 20 awards for outstanding product design.
Prior to Cisco, at Symantec he was Group President sales, marketing, and product development, responsible for cloud security and the SMB market. He developed and grew the company’s Software as a Service strategy and expanded their cloud-based delivery and customer support models.
Barry Zwarenstein has more than 35 years of financial leadership in the technology industry. Barry is responsible for the company's financial planning and operations. In 2019, Barry was awarded the Bay Area CFO of the Year Award for the small to medium public category.
Barry has been the CFO of several companies: He's managed three successful IPOs (Five9, VeriFone and Logitech), and played a significant role in the sale of SMART Modular Technologies to Silver Lake Partners for $635M and the sale of Acuson to Siemens Health Care for $700M. Barry was also CFO of Iomega Corporation and Mellanox Technologies. Barry holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Natal, South Africa and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
Barry's philosophy is to take a broad approach to the role of CFO and become an effective business partner across the entire organization. Barry's approach is to keep shareholders adequately informed, ensure sufficient funding, drive process improvements, and report accurate and timely financial information. A key element that connects these roles are in-depth, contextual analyses about all aspects of the business; something that is easily accomplished in a cloud company like Five9 since there is an abundance of consistent and coherent data. He also believes it is essential to have best-in-class, scalable, and integrated systems, as well as a strong, seasoned finance team.
Dan Burkland is responsible for global sales, including all direct, channels, and business development. Since joining Five9 in 2009, Dan has grown annual revenues from under $20M to approach $200M. He is also responsible for all implementation, professional services, and customer support organizations. His organizations cover the entire customer life-cycle from sales to implementation to ongoing support – all critical to customer success from a Cloud Software company.
Dan has more than 30 years of experience building and scaling successful sales and leadership teams. Before Five9, Dan was SVP of Sales at Transera Communications. He also ran worldwide sales for IP Unity, growing the business tenfold, and held sales management positions at Cisco and GeoTel.
Kimberly Lytikainen is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Five9, responsible for all legal affairs and compliance matters for the company. Kimberly brings over 25 years of legal and leadership experience to help the Five9 organization scale globally with balanced risk.
Prior to Five9, she was the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Poshmark, a next gen consumer marketplace company, and, prior to that, led MINDBODY, a SaaS company, through an IPO, several strategic acquisitions, and their sale to Vista Equity Partners as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary. She has also held Vice President positions at Pivotal and NVIDIA, where she enabled many key customer relationships, effectively resolved high stakes litigation and stewarded NVIDIA through several large international transactions. Kimberly began her in-house career at Sun Microsystems, after seven years as a trial attorney handling complex IP cases.
Jonathan Rosenberg is the Chief Technology Officer and head of AI at Five9. Jonathan has dedicated his career to transforming the telecommunications industry and joins Five9 from Cisco where he was CTO for the Collaboration Technology Group (CTG). Jonathan is also well known for his authorship of the SIP protocol, which is the foundation for modern IP-based telecommunications. Prior to Cisco, Rosenberg was the Chief Technology Strategist at Skype, where he guided the company’s technology strategy. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from MIT and holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Columbia University.
In 2002 he was named one of the most innovative young technologists in the world by Technology Review magazine. He also was named a "Top Supergeek" by CRN and won a Pulver Von Pioneer award for contributions to the VoIP industry. In 2015 he was presented with the Ohio University Strowger Award for transformational innovation in the Telecommunications industry.
Ryan Kam is chief marketing officer at Five9, responsible for stewardship of the Five9 brand, and all aspects of marketing. Ryan is a passionate marketing leader who has elevated some of tech’s most storied brands, grown and managed industry leading award-winning marketing teams.
Prior to joining Five9 in 2018, Ryan was Chief Creative / Digital Officer at AppDynamics, where he rebranded the company and created a compelling corporate narrative that contributed to a successful IPO roadshow. Ryan held a variety of creative and digital marketing roles at Salesforce, where he served as lead creative for salesforce.com, creative director of the Dreamforce user conference and head of digital marketing. Earlier in his career, Ryan served in associate creative director roles at a variety of digital agencies.
David Pickering is the executive vice president of engineering, and is responsible for all product and platform development, and Five9’s worldwide engineering teams.
Pickering comes to Five9 from Intuit, where he led engineering for QuickBooks Online (QBO) and launched the QuickBooks Accountant segment. As QBO’s product development leader he oversaw six years of exceptional growth, with SaaS growing 10x to more than 2.7 million small business subscribers. He previously led engineering for the SaaS Contact Center at Oracle, where he launched its enterprise call center and contact center suite. Pickering also led engineering for TapJoy, a successful targeted marketing and monetization platform for social and mobile developers.
Scott Welch is the executive vice president of cloud operations at Five9 and is responsible for technology operations, telecom services, and security. Scott is a seasoned executive with more than 24 years of experience in software development, technology operations, and management.
Prior to Five9, Welch spent ten-plus years at inContact where he managed a team responsible for several operational functions, including telecom operations, cost of goods, system and network administration, security, database administration, billing operations, network provisioning, and a 7x24 network operations center. Welch also held positions as vice president information services, vice president of application development, and information technology director at various technology companies prior to 2003.
Scott is driven by a strong desire to deliver technology for critical systems in a high tech environment. He believes that system availability is like air for customers, it’s necessary every moment and critical when you don’t have it. He takes pride in delivering results through a team that is just as passionate as he is about platform performance.
Anand Chandrasekaran is the Executive Vice President of Product Management at Five9. He is a recognized product leader and innovator, with 17 years of experience building successful products & leading product organizations. Most recently, he was Director focused on the Messenger Platform at Facebook, leading the growth of the platform to over 250,000 developers including a customer care focus and eight billion messages between businesses and consumers.
He was previously Chief Product Officer at Snapdeal, one of India's e-commerce leaders, where he helped double the seller base and daily orders. Previously, he was CPO at Bharti Airtel, the #3 mobile operator globally with 300M subscribers driving new product development and launching Wynk Music, Airtel Money etc. and leading the e-commerce business. He also co-founded Aeroprise, which became the most-deployed solution worldwide for mobile IT service management.
Anand holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Communications Engineering. from PSG College of Technology (India). In 2010, he was named Young Global Leader by World Economic Forum.
James Doran is the Executive Vice President of Strategy & Operations at Five9, responsible for advancing the company’s growth strategy and operational maturity to enable the organization to deliver on its promise. James is a widely respected veteran leader, having led multiple business transformations throughout his 20+ years in the industry.
Prior to Five9, James was Vice President of Strategy & Operations for Cisco’s Collaboration division, where he led the business transformation to subscription, inked alliances with SalesForce, Apple, IBM and Google and drove the merger and acquisition agenda to include Broadsoft, Mindmeld and AppDynamics. James also held a variety of executive positions at Symantec, worked in strategy consulting, with successful start-ups, and served on staff for both the White House and Capitol Hill.
James received a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
As the Senior Vice President of HR, Tricia heads up the Global HR team at Five9 and has been with the company for a total of 4 years. Tricia is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years in HR roles across multiple industries with an emphasis in software.
Prior to Five9, Tricia held leadership and HR roles at McGrath RentCorp, Remedy Software and Informix Software. Tricia is a trusted and respected leader with experience collaborating with leadership and stakeholders to drive performance through strong partnerships and a deep understanding of the company, employees and culture.
She is passionate about unlocking and developing talent within the organization to increase employee engagement and drive success. Tricia completed her bachelor’s degree in Management from Golden Gate University.
Executive Chairman, Five9
Mike Burkland joined Five9 as CEO in January 2008. Under Mike’s leadership as CEO for nearly 10 years, Five9 grew from an 80-person startup with $10 million in annual revenue to an 800-person public company with $200 million in annual revenue. Today Five9 is one of the largest and fastest growing independent providers of cloud contact center software. In December of 2017 Mike transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman for health reasons.
Before Five9, Mike was the CEO of a handful of enterprise software and cloud companies in market segments ranging from systems management and content management to security and CRM. He has also led three private companies through successful acquisitions by larger public companies. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Oracle and BMC. Mike holds MBA and BA degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.
Mike’s management philosophy is based on creating a team-oriented environment. In Mike’s view, building a successful company is analogous to building a winning sports franchise. It requires top talent, the right playbook and most importantly great team chemistry.

Dave Welsh is a Member and Head of TMT Growth Equity at KKR, a global private equity firm. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Welsh was a Partner with Adams Street Partners, where he focused on technology growth equity investments. Earlier in his career he was an Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy at McAfee, Inc., a General Partech at Partech Ventures and a Vice President of Corporate Development at Portal Software. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cherwell, Five9 and ForgeRock. He is also the Board Chair at the Athenian School and a Board Member of SEO Scholars SF and the Special Olympics of Northern California and Nevada. He has a BA from UCLA and a JD from UC Berkeley Law School.
Michael J. Burdiek has served as the president and chief executive officer and also as a member of the Board of Directors of CalAmp since 2011. From 2006 to 2011, Michael held various positions at CalAmp, a global provider of wireless communications solutions, including president of CalAmp’s Wireless DataCom segment and president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining CalAmp, Michael was the president and CEO of Telenetics Corporation, a manufacturer of data communications products. From 1987 to 2003, Michael held a variety of technical and general management positions with Comarco Inc., most recently as senior vice president and general manager of Comarco's Wireless Test Systems unit. Michael holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Fullerton, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University.
Principal, Alexy Capital Management
Kimberly Alexy is the principal of Alexy Capital Management, a private investment management firm that she founded in 2005. She has more than 20 years of experience in capital markets, corporate finance and investments. Kimberly is a seasoned finance professional and corporate board member. She has previously served as the senior vice president and managing director for Prudential Securities, vice president of equity research at Lehman Brothers and assistant vice president of corporate finance at Wachovia Bank. Kimberly also serves as an active board member at Alteryx, FireEye and CalAmp Corp and has previously served as a board member at Microsemi, Vizio, Dot Hill Systems, Maxtor, Smart Modular Technologies, and Southwest Water Company.
Jack Acosta has served in a board role for multiple companies. Previously, Jack served as CFO and vice president of finance for Portal Software. Prior to Portal Software, Jack served as executive vice president and CFO as well as vice president, engineering services, integration, and business management for Sybase, Inc. Jack was also the president, COO, and a director of Tanon Manufacturing, Inc. Prior to these assignments, Jack held various management positions at Ungermann-Bass, Inc., Atari, Inc., Diablo Systems, Inc., and Ford Motor Company.
Dave DeWalt is a veteran CEO, advisor, and investor who has led companies, from startup to the Fortune 500, on a transformational journey of success. Focused on technology and cybersecurity, Dave helped create more than $20 billion of shareholder value during his 15 plus years as president and CEO of three major companies. That includes driving the most successful cybersecurity IPO ever in 2013, and leading the largest all-cash deal in technology history in 2010. Today he serves as the chairman of Momentum Cyber, the managing director of Allegis Cyber, founder of NightDragon, as well as an investor and board member in the world’s most innovative companies such as Delta Airlines, Five9, ForeScout, Phantom Cyber, CallSign, Claroty, Team8, DataTribe, Illusive Networks, and Optiv. Dave has substantial expertise in the information technology security industry and, with his strategic and operational experience, provides counsel to some of the leading companies in the space. Dave was named one of the 25 most influential executives in high technology by the readers of the industry publication CRN. He has spoken at the World Economic Forum on the issue of cybersecurity and keynoted at several technology industry conferences including Interop and Software 2008 and RSA. He is an alumnus of the University of Delaware.
Over the past thirty five years, Robert Zollars has led eleven healthcare and technology companies as President or CEO, ranging in size from $100M to over $5B in revenue. These companies include venture, private equity and publicly traded businesses. His most recent experiences included Chairman and CEO of Vocera, Chairman of Diamond Foods, and Corporate Director of VWR Corporation.
Mr. Zollars currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Frazier Healthcare Partners, and is also a Corporate Director of Change Healthcare, Appian Rx, TCGRX and Kate Farms. He is also a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and is Co-Chair of The Trustee’s of Arizona State University.
